Afghan Women’s Rights: Integrity in Time of Crisis

To commemorate International Women’s Day (IWD), the Afghan Women’s Center (AWCM) will host a virtual event on March 7, 2022 (11AM to 1PM EST), on Afghan women’s rights and their access to education. The conference will cover the following topics:

1. women’s rights in Afghanistan and their access to education;
2. the experiences of Afghan immigrant women in Canada; and
3. reflections on the role that the international community can play in promoting women’s rights in Afghanistan, following the collapse of the Afghan government and the onset of the most recent crisis.

The event is co-sponsored by the CFUW and will analyze the current crisis in Afghanistan as well as identify and implement actions that will alleviate the increasingly precarious plight of Afghan women.
