Hello friends! Help Us Build 10 Learning Plus Baskets at our London Chapter’s Breaking Bread. Join us as we recognize “The Day of Grieving”, remembering the fall of Kabul to the Taliban one year ago. Our goal is to raise $1,500 to support delivering 10 Learning Plus Baskets to families in Afghanistan.

Look forward to:

  • Authentic Afghan Dishes and drinks
  • Keynote featuring Deborah Ellis, author of The Breadwinner and major donor to CW4WAfghan who will share the exciting news of her fifth book in the trilogy, One More Mountain
  • Participate in a Lantern Making arts project
  • Afghan marketplace
  • A sample of a Learning Plus Basket with a donation box
  • The goal of $1,500 (10 learning plus baskets) – Learning Baskets are delivered to women and their families and include basic necessities and learning materials

August 15, 2022 marks one year since the return of the Taliban and a crisis for women, girls and their families in Afghanistan. We invite you to learn more about the current crisis in Afghanistan, and to enjoy an afternoon of food and fun as we Break Bread at Gibbons Park. This year, in addition to the event you are participating in, we will invite you to participate in the CW4WAfghan National Breaking Bread virtual program available to view any time it suits you. A link will be sent to you when you register.

CW4WAfghan continues to fulfill our mandate while carefully directing donations to ensure we do not support the Taliban, and that we protect the safety of those receiving services from us.
