Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan Vancouver Chapter invites you to a free information session on the women’s human rights crisis in Afghanistan, what is being done, and ways to get involved.

Come to this in-person event and hear an update on the current human rights crisis impacting women and girls in Afghanistan, about how local Afghan women activists in Vancouver are mobilizing, and about CW4WAfghan’s work defending the right to learn in Afghanistan. Learn about different ways you can take action and make a difference in the lives of women and girls impacted by the human rights restrictions in place in Afghanistan today.

AGENDA:

  • The current women’s human rights situation in Afghanistan, with CW4WAfghan Executive Director Lauryn Oates & local activist and writer Sahar Maqsoodi
  • Update on upcoming activities & plans from Afghan women activists, with activist and journalist Humira Saqib
  • How CW4WAfghan is responding, with CW4WAfghan staff
  • About the Vancouver Chapter, with Chapter volunteers
  • How to get involved, and Q&A

There will also be a table with products from Afghanistan to purchase (cash/cheque preferred).
